Financial Contributions from the Kanton of Basel-Stadt for a Childcare Place

The revised Daycare Act will come into force in Basel-Stadt on August 1, 2024

Susanna's International Kindergarden is a daycare center with childcare subsidies. For families resident in Basel-Stadt, this means that part of the childcare costs can be covered by the Canton of Basel-Stadt (Fachstelle Tagesbetreuung).

Whether and to what extent a family qualifies for the childcare subsidies is determined by the "Fachstelle Tagesbetreuung"  based on their calculation. Parents must submit an applicationin order to apply for subidies.

In order to be able to estimate whether and to what extent a family qualifies for the contribution supplement, the "Fachstelle Tagesbetreuung has provided an online calculator (this link must be used for a cost estimate for the period BEFORE July 31st 2024!)

The application for childcare contributions for the period BEFORE 31.07.2024 can be submitted via the online form.

The revised Daycare Act will make daycare significantly cheaper for families resident in Basel-Stadt.
